Custom Scenarios

Create automated smart forms and messages that are sent to your visitors after a specific behavior or an action: help them choose the right service or make a personal offer at the right time. You can create various pop-up forms based on targeted actions — triggers. Triggered messages are the best for user engagement and future sales.

In this article, you will get to know more about all of the events you can bind widget scripts on your website and explain how to customize messages for each script.

How to customize the look of smart forms

To create a script on your website to send an automatic message triggered by an event, go to the Website Messages section. Click on Add event trigger.

Choose one of the 30+ templates according to the type or main action (CTA-element).

Types of templates

  • The modal window is a block located in the center of the page. Content outside the box is dimmed and non-clickable. You need to close the modal window to interact with the content.
  • Page overlay is a block that overlaps the entire page of the website. Close the overlay window to interact with the content.
  • A pop-up is a floating block “glued” to the left or right in the browser window when scrolling. It doesn’t interfere with content interaction.
  • Video pop-up is a pop-up in which a horizontal or vertical video from YouTube is played automatically upon a click. If an automatic script is selected, the video will start playing after any user action on the page. If the clicked activation is selected, a preview will be displayed after loading the page, and video playback will start after clicking on the pop-up. So that not to be intrusive, video pop-ups are always displayed on click on mobile devices.
  • A message is a text that pops up in an online chat widget according to a specific script.
  • Long pop-up — “sticky” panel that can be attached to the top or bottom of the page. Doesn’t interfere with the interaction with the content.

CTA types

  • Cookie request — a button by clicking on which the user consents to the use of cookies and closes the pop-up or follows the link to read the rules for using cookies.
  • Call to action —  a button with a link to a landing page.
  • Chat button — a visitor will go to the online chat on the website after clicking on it.
  • Messenger button  — is a subscription button to all popular social networks: Messenger, Telegram, WhatsApp, Instagram, Snapchat, Viber, VK, Twitter, YouTube, and custom link (user link to a page or a chat-bot). You can add any number of buttons into one pop-up using presets.
  • Email subscription — a form for email collection.
  • Phone request — a form for phone numbers collection.
  • Without a button — the action button is hidden, the pop-up performs an informative function. This CTA can be used in any type of pop-up.
  • Custom form — a form with fields from project variables (standard and custom) with validation by variable type. You can add up to 10 fields in total. The user can fill in only a part of the fields to their liking; in this case, the data is saved, and the user will receive a warning that the information has been saved, but the empty fields must be filled in. This CTA type can be used in any pop-up.

When choosing a template all data relating to the pop-up look are filled in automatically. You can go to targeting settings or edit any of the elements.

Further customization of smart forms does not depend on the selected template and consists of two steps:

  1. customizing the look of the form and content;
  2. setting up the script.

We’ll show you the process of creating a smart form step by step using the example of a modal window. You can apply this guide for customizing any other type of template.

During the pop-up creation, the system generates an automatic name that you can keep or substitute so that it is easy to find and distinguish this script from other scripts.

Name the script so that it is easy to find and distinguish it from other scripts.

You can delete an image, keep a default image, choose any image from templates or download your own in JPG, PNG, or GIF format up to 1MB.

Add an image to make the pop-up more visible. This feature is available in all types of templates except the message type.

Press the “v” sign in the image box to change the preset image.

Press Change image to upload the image from your computer.

You can change the position of the image in relation to the text and the button.

Choose the display style of all pop-up elements: white, black, or colored. The color scheme will also change depending on the chosen color scheme in the project.

Enter a relevant message for your website visitors so that it engages prospects in interacting with the widget. You can format text, add links, and emojis.

Formatting options:

  • Customize headings, paragraphs, and small paragraphs. A small paragraph is two paragraphs smaller than usual – use it to compactly fit all the text you need into a pop-up.
  • Font size selection: 13, 15, 22, 26, and 30.
  • Aligns text to the center, left, or right or full justification.
  • Three style options: bold, italic, or underlined.

You can type up to 3000 characters in the field.

For example, if a visitor has viewed a product page more than 3 times, a message in the pop-up widget will help them make a choice and close the sale. For those who are on the payment and delivery page, the widget will help to calculate the cost of the goods delivery.

The next step is to choose the main action.

There are seven options:

  • Cookie request — a button by clicking on which the user consents to the use of cookies and closes the pop-up or follows the link to learn the rules for the use of cookies.
  • Call to action —  a button with a link to a landing page.
  • Chat button — a visitor will go to the online chat on the website after clicking on it.
  • Messenger button  — is a subscription button to all popular social networks: Messenger, Telegram, WhatsApp, Instagram, Snapchat, Viber, VK, Twitter, YouTube, and custom link (user link to a page or a chatbot). You can add any number of buttons into one pop-up using presets.
  • Email subscription — a form for email collection.
  • Phone request — a form for phone numbers collection.
  • Without button — the active action button is hidden, the pop-up performs an informative function. This CTA can be used in any type of pop-up.

Using a call to action, you can redirect your website visitors to any page on your website, to a chatbot, to a messenger, or to a file download. For example, using this form, you can collect Telegram chatbot subscribers or redirect those who have read more than three blog articles to download a useful guide.

Check all the specified options and click Next to go to setting up the script for a smart form display.

If you add more than one condition, adjust the order of the conditions:

  • “any” — the form will be displayed if any condition is met.

Save changes by clicking on Save and publish.

To activate the smart form, go to the tab corresponding to the template and move the slider.

All pop-ups are displayed in the Website Messages section in separate tabs corresponding to the type of the smart form. Once created, you can change any setting except its type.

In order for the pop-up window to be displayed on your website, it is enough to install the widget script once. If the widget code is already installed, clear your cookies.

How to copy an existing smart pop-up

You can copy any pop-up in one click to create a similar one in another language or slightly change the targeting settings and test the hypothesis.

Select the pop-up you want to copy, click on the three dots in the upper right corner and select “Copy.”

The system will create a new pop-up with the same settings and name, which can be edited at any time. Make the necessary changes and activate the smart pop-up by moving the slider.

Let’s figure out how to analyze this data.
